I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember. At first it was the sand on the beach, the walls on my mother’s home, chalk, crayons and the floor was a canvas. On any paper… flowers, suns, waves and birds would appear. With time the taste for drawing was defined and improved to give way to the expression of feelings and everything became a source of inspiration. Music, literature, especially poetry, the sea… always the sea, nature, all the beauty that surrounds us. the beauty that is almost invisible in a chaotic and voracious world.
The contemplation of what is delicate and brief, ephemeral… Mono no aware … It is a starting point for creation and creativity.
Japan is an old passion, a dream and source of constant inspiration; samurais, geishas… stories of warriors. Stories of honor, resilience and perseverance but also of balance and delicate beauty.
Although my professional background is IT, I do not use Artificial Intelligence in my artistic work. Just a sheet of paper and graphite pencils. Coloration is made with watercolors and Photoshop.
I believe that art is a co-creation of man and something divine that we can call inspiration. Something that comes to us and through us gains life. Artistic expression should be felt and not the product of command lines and/or algorithms. Although it may be easy on the eye. Where is the soul? The feeling? The expression of emotional power that the artist transmits to the observer? Art is always a connection between the artist and the art lover…
